CALD Youth

Empowering Asia's Next Generation of Liberal Democratic Leaders

CALD Youth is the youth wing of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) with membership from the youth departments of the CALD member parties: Cambodia National Rescue Party, Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle, Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia, Liberal Party of the Philippines, Civil Will Green Party of Mongolia, Singapore Democratic Party, Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan, Democrat Party of Thailand; and The Nation Awakening Party.

The organization aims to promote liberal and democratic values among the Asian youth; create regional solidarity among the liberal youth community on issues relating to the violation of liberty, democracy, and equality; and increase the participation of youth in mainstream politics and policy-making.

CALD Youth believes that freedom is necessary for the youth to develop and reach their own human potential fully, and that equality means that all people are entitled to enjoy this freedom. Its members strongly advocate for democracy, human rights, free market economic principles, and rule of law.

Since its formation in 2010, CALD Youth has held international workshops and trainings on strategic planning, leadership, political communications, and climate change.

In December 2012, CALD Youth became a regional member organization of the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY). CALD and IFLRY first collaborated with each other for a discussion on the role of youth in promoting nonviolent political change during the Liberal International Congress in June 2011.

Let's Build Democracy Together

Whether you’re a policymaker, partner organization, researcher, media representative, or supporter of democratic values, CALD welcomes opportunities to collaborate and create meaningful impact across Asia.
