Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has spent over three decades in public service, guided by one conviction: that genuine change happens only when leaders and citizens work together.
A former student leader during the struggle against the dictatorship, Kiko first entered public office as the youngest elected city councilor of Quezon City in 1988. He went on to serve three terms in the Senate, consistently championing food security and agriculture, justice, good governance, and the welfare of the most vulnerable sectors of society.
As senator, he authored landmark measures such as the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, the Sagip Saka Act, and the Judiciary Compensation and Modernization Act. As Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization, he stabilized rice prices, rallied farmers against the cocolisap infestation, and secured big-ticket irrigation projects.
In 2022, he made a historic run for vice president alongside then Vice President Leni Robredo, standing on a platform of honest governance, people empowerment, and hope. Though they fell short, their campaign inspired millions of Filipinos, especially the youth, to engage in politics with courage and compassion.
Re-elected in 2025 and placing 5th overall despite formidable odds, Kiko continues to be a leading voice for food security, good governance, and integrity in public service.
