(December 22, 2004 / Manila, Philippines) Taiwanese Legislator Bi-Khim Hsiao of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and CALD Secretary General visited the Friedrich Naumann Manila-CALD Secretariat offices today in Makati City, Metro Manila.
Ms. Hsiao met with CALD Executive Director John Coronel and FNF Resident Representative Ronald Meinardus to discuss CALD’s activities for 2005. The DPP is the current chair party of CALD.
Dr. Hsin-hsing Wu, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Manila, hosted a lunch in her honor. Messrs. Meinardus and Coronel will host a dinner for Ms. Hsiao at the Manila Shangri-La Hotel. Representatives of the Liberal Party and the liberal think tank, the National Institute for Policy Studies, are also expected to attend.
